First call checklist for participants
A first call with a provider is a chance to see whether the service feels practical and respectful. You can have a family member, carer or coordinator with you if that helps.
What to compare
Explain the support needed, location, days and times, funding and preferences. Ask about capacity, costs, who will deliver support, how changes are managed and what happens next. Write down anything you want clarified.
Take your time
You do not need to decide during the first conversation. Ask for information in writing, compare more than one option where possible and choose the arrangement that works for the person receiving support.
